Fear Conditioning Appratus

It is fully computerized system designed to study contextual fear conditioning in rats and mice. This apparatus has been successfully used in studies of the psychophysiology and the psychopharmacology of fear conditioning and for exploring the effects of analgesics and anxiolytics.

By utilizing auditory cues, light cues and shock grid subject can be forced into freezing defensive posture. Fear conditioning apparatus software provides the user with the ability to control the cue type, cue duration and scoring frequency. The camera fitted on the top of the box records the start and end of freezing episodes. Freeze monitor software accurately reports total number of freezing episodes and total time freezing for each session. Contextual fear conditioning can be studied by using different vertical and horizontal strip textures on
clear wall of fear conditioning apparatus.
